All of our dogs come from euthanasia lists at local shelters. These dogs are getting a second chance at life, and they deserve it! Each adoption is treated differently, because each dog is different. Please contact us for specific adoption details for the dog you are interested in. Our Process:
We do not do applications on a first-come-first-serve basis. We do however process applications in order they are received and if we feel the application is not the right match for the dog, we will let the applicant know, and move on to the next application.
This is done with the dog's best interest in mind. Just because we don't feel the dog you applied for is not a good match for your home/lifestyle does not automatically mean we are disqualifying you as an adopter. We will take the time to explain our reasoning and work with you to find the right dog.
Once your application is turned into the Adoption Team it can take up to 3 weeks to have the dog adopted and living in your home. We will first process the application, check references, vet records and home ownership or landlord. Once these are completed we can set up a time for you and your family members to meet the dog. The next step is the home check where we check to make sure the home is a healthy living environment.
Our final step is the most important, the trial adoption! The trial adoption can be done at the same time as the home check.
Here at PNWPBR, we feel a trial adoption is an important part of making your adoption successful! We bring over the dog, it's crate, food, toys and all you will need for a fun weekend with your new dog.
At an animal shelter you meet what you think is the dog of your dreams, take it home, and find that it just isn't a good match. With our trial adoption you get to feel out how the dog is in your home and give it a few days before you make that lifetime commitment to your new best friend!
While these steps may seem daunting and timely, please remember we do it not to make it hard on YOU, but because these dogs deserve the best. Thank you for understanding!!
